Inflation Bag Technical Data Sheet

Specific Tapered design

The leading edge features a tapered design for two key reasons:

Reason One

The tapered design of the bag’s leading edge allows it to be easily pushed under low-level furniture with a minimum clearance of 20 mm.

Combined with the bag’s material construction, this ensures smooth and easy operation.

Reason Two

When inflated, the tapered design minimises the bag’s footprint beneath the bed, allowing the surrounding area to be cleaned effectively without impacting the overall cleaning regime.

Spreader Plate Technical Data Sheet

Spreader plate design

The spreader plate is designed to be compact while remaining easy to carry around the property. This is achieved through integrated slots within its construction, allowing for efficient handling and transport.

The design enables all straps and accessories to be neatly stored within the folded frame, ensuring ease of handling and organisation.

Once opened into two joining halves, the spreader plate forms a lightweight platform that can be slid under a split bed with a minimum clearance of 20 mm. This design allows the equipment to be used across a range of bed sizes. Channels at either end of the plate enable the straps to be adjusted to suit the width of the bed.

Once positioned beneath the bed, the spreader plate is secured using straps placed over the mattress. The ratchet is positioned on protective felt, which is stored within the frame to prevent damage and ensure safe operation.

When secured, the spreader plate can be used alongside the inflation bag to assist with lifting split beds, providing additional support underneath.

Additional Staff Required

The need for additional staff to assist with lifting beds and furniture can result in extra costs for the company. Increased staffing requirements lead to higher labour expenses and may also affect scheduling and productivity. Providing appropriate equipment or ensuring furniture is designed for easier movement can help reduce the need for extra staff and minimise these additional costs.

Limited Access

Staff may struggle to complete cleaning duties effectively due to limited space, particularly under beds and furniture.

Restricted access can result in items such as medication being accidentally dropped and left unnoticed. This poses a serious risk, as small children may pick up the medication, potentially leading to harm. Ensuring adequate space for cleaning helps maintain safety as well as hygiene standards.

Unwanted Breeding Grounds

Areas under beds and furniture that are not regularly cleaned can become breeding grounds for pests such as bed bugs, mites, and other insects. Dust, warmth, and undisturbed spaces provide ideal conditions for these pests to hide and multiply. Once established, infestations can spread quickly, causing discomfort, skin irritation, and significant disruption to the household. Regular cleaning and inspection of these hidden areas are essential to prevent pest infestations and maintain a safe, hygienic environment.

Frustrated Staff

Frustrated housekeepers often struggle to complete their tasks efficiently when they do not have the right tools or equipment. Without proper supplies, even simple duties take longer, leading to stress, reduced productivity, and lower job satisfaction. Having the correct tools is essential for housekeepers to perform their roles effectively and maintain high standards of cleanliness and
care.

Staff Lifting Injuries

The Hidden Cost of Luxury Beds (UK Focus)
Housekeeping involves intense, repetitive lifting, a major contributor
to Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). The impact in the UK is
significant:

  • 7.8 million working days lost to work-related MSDs in 2023/24 (HSE).
  • Housekeeping roles rank among the highest sickness absence rates
    (ONS).
  • Each affected employee averages 14.3 days off work, reducing
    efficiency and increasing costs.

No one should risk their health to do their job.

Dust

Areas is essential to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall wellbeing.

Dust and debris that remain uncleaned under beds and furniture can build up over time and negatively affect both hygiene and health. This accumulation can trigger allergies, asthma, and respiratory issues, particularly in children and vulnerable individuals. In addition, hidden dust can attract pests and contribute to unpleasant odours, creating an unhealthy living environment. Regular and thorough cleaning of these.
